Healthy Green Smoothie with Lemon, Sorrel, and Strawberries

Hey there, modern hippies! Here’s me harnessing the power of the internet for the greater good. Ready? I’m drinking this healthy green smoothie with lemon, sorrel, and strawberries right now. I just made it up like fifteen minutes ago. And guess what? Now you can drink it right now, too. Aren’t you psyched we’re new-school (a.k.a. fake — whaaaaat?) hippies instead of old-school ones? We have the internet. We have quinoa available in most supermarkets. We have each other, but there’s no pressure to mean that literally. It’s perfect. (Also, if any old-school hippies are reading this, hi, and thanks!)

Sorrel is a wonderful, bright-tasting green that sometimes gets used as an herb but can totally hold its own in a salad, too. 

Lemony Green Smoothie with Sorrel

This green smoothie is bright and lemony with a hint of sweetness. It'll make you feel like a million bucks.

Ingredients

  • 2 big handfuls sorrel (leaves and stems)
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Flesh of 1/2 avocado
  • 3 strawberries
  • Handful of ice
  • Splash of water

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to a regular or high speed blender and blend until completely smooth.
